Welcome to Rosewood, a vibrant, 80-year-old elementary school with a fine tradition in downtown Columbia, South Carolina. Near the campus of the University of South Carolina and the State Capitol Complex, Rosewood serves a diverse population of families who choose to live “downtown” with all of the cultural urban amenities that our central city has to offer.

We think of our school as a progressive, secular, humanistic, urban educational institution, where we work hard to ensure that relations among students, staff, parents, and administration are as democratic and egalitarian as possible. Our curriculum focuses on traditional academics, respect and nurturance toward our environment, and the peaceful resolution of conflict at our school and in our world.
